Going Private

The time has come to go private. I have been meaning to do this for a long time, but for one reason or another it keeps getting put off. I love to read everyone Else's blog, and I think it is a great way to stay in touch with everyone. Even when we live less than three minutes away and we pass each other daily, life is so crazy we hardly ever have the time time to just stop and talk. If you would like to continue reading my posts please leave me your e-mail address, and I would love to send you an invite to my blog. Moving on we have been super busy like everyone else. It is only February and seriously I am counting down the days until summer. FYI... daylight savings is in 26 days (I told you I was counting down) YEA. Today poor Keeter had NINE teeth extracted. Five baby teeth and Four permanent teeth. She has been such a trooper. We did make time for a little fun this last weekend. We loaded up and went to the Snowmobile races on Saturday. It was fun to get out, we needed a little more snow though. Kevin took 2nd place, and a huge congrats to Tia...she kicked butt and took first in two divisions! It was awesome. Then on Sunday we made our Valentine boxes. Mason made a race car, and Keaten made a Mail box. Here are the pictures of the final product.

Suprise Party

We had the best weekend, Shauna and her family flew in from N.C. and spent four days in Utah it was so good to see them, we have missed them tons. When we got the news about Shauna coming to Utah we planned a surprise party for Kara. She turned 30 on Christmas day this year, and it was impossible to plan her a party during the holidays. So we decided to throw a late surprise party....she had no idea. We had so much fun even my mom, Dean and Heather made it. I wish I could spend every weekend with my sisters. I am so grateful to have such wonderful family my sisters are my rock! I could never make it without them, I love you guys!

Boys will be Boys

I have slacking on my blogging duties, however I have had nothing great and exciting to post. We have been keeping busy with the usual everyday activities at our house.
I am soooooo excited that January is half over I have cabin fever terribly. Next week Shauna and her Family are flying in from North Carolina and I cant wait to spend the weekend with them. My kids are keeping me busy busy, and Jaxon is still into EVERYTHING. Last Thursday he woke up at 3:00 a.m. and had no desire to go back to bed. After trying for about 1/2 hour it was clearly obvious he was ready to party. I took him out to the living room and layed a blanket on the floor hoping he would lay down by me and fall asleep. The only one who fell asleep was of coarse me! You have no idea the mess I woke up to. He unloaded every cupboard and drawer in the house. Cups, spoons, pans, lids, everything! Then apparently he got hungry so he helped himself to the cereal, when he was finished he just dumped the remainder on the floor, with the dog food. He probably had some dog food as well. Then he made his way to the bathroom. He dumped out all the q-tips and bobby pins, before he went for the toilet and found a box of tampons and dumped them in the toilet. When I went in the next morning there were about six still floating. Needless to say it took me a while to clean up.... once again I was late for work. When I got home that night I was putting some groceries away and as I turned the lazy Susan around I found some remaining ''party favors'' left behind. If you look closely you will notice the wrappers on the tampons have been wet. Apparently they too were in the toilet! I can only imagine what the terrible two's may bring!!!

Next we have Mason's battle wounds. His first black eye... he ran head on with a 2x4 sticking out of the back of Kevin's truck! I'm not kidding it is never dull moment at the Mickelsen's house.

Christmas day

Here are some random pics from Christmas, everyone was spoiled at our house! We started out Christmas morning at my house with my mom, Dean, Heather, Kara, Cheri, Richard, and Nikki (Cheri's boyfriend and his brother) After Santa and presents we had breakfast. Then we played some more. In the afternoon we went to Kevin's parents and had dinner and more presents! It was a great day the only thing missing was Shauna and her family....we will be making up for this next year!!!

Family Traditions

Every year we start early on Christmas eve (day) out at Kevin's parents. We have lunch with more food than anyone could ever eat, then everyone hikes up the red knoll to build a huge star on top of the hill. After the star building we load up the horses and wagons and deliver food baskets to the elderly or widows in Redmond. We always have so much fun. It is nice to have big families on both sides. This is what Christmas is all about,

It was too cold for Jax and Slade, so we followed in my car.

We took two wagon this year, full of kids and gift baskets to deliver

Back to normal

It took exactly one week and the little man was back to normal! I am so glad it's all over. I have decided that he is truly the best baby ever. I posted this picture because he is so proud of his belly button! He always yells my name ''HEIDI'' and when I turn he lifts his shirt and says ''belly bunnon'' Only a mother would find this adorable.

How cute is this

This is my favorite before picture he is the sweetest little boy ever...

Into recovery

Jaxon was so good this early in the morning, as usual he was happy as could be. I felt so guilty taking him in for surgery when he was happy and having such a good day. I only got one after pic because he wanted nothing or nobody except me... It feels good to be loved even though I feel so bad for him. We just got home and he is sleeping, we have a long weekend ahead of us but everything went great!

This last one is a little blurry but he was not happy, so we had to hurry!

A little nervous

Unlike his mother Jaxon loves mornings. He wakes up every day laughing and ready to make messes. He loves to go to Lorie's because he can't wait to play with ''Daden'' aka Hagen :) He loves Hagen they are a few months apart and already best friends. I dropped him off today and Hagen was waiting, Jaxon pushed away from me and started taking off his coat. Today Jaxon brought a little truck with him so he turned to Hagen and said MINE...then Hagen looked at him also with a toy in his hand and said MINE then they both took off running to play. I yelled from the door and said ''bye Jax'' when he stopped and turned around, he peeked only his head around the corner and said ''Bye Bye'' then took off after Hagen. I left feeling a little nervous knowing that tomorrow morning will be allot different. Tomorrow the little man is getting his tonsils out. I know this is a simple procedure, but for some reason I just keep worrying. I keep telling myself this has been planned for the last 6 months, I've known all along we were doing this. However I am dreading tomorrow morning. Especially today, I can't quit thinking about it. He is so little, and yes I know he's the baby and we spoil him rotten but how could you not? He is so much fun. I will try to keep myself from worrying today and hope for the best tomorrow.

Decking the Halls

Finally some Christmas cheer...Brenna threatened me that if I did not get busy she was going to come over and deck my halls. I waited and waited and she never showed :) So I decided I better get busy. Now maybe next week I will start a Christmas list.

The kids had a blast even Landon joined in on the fun. Mason was so excited especially when we found his ornament from last year! It was a good idea to let Jaxon help, after the tree was finished he looked at it and said ''pretty lights'' Since then he has not touched it once.

Last night the twilight countdown came to an end. I have been anxiously awaiting this huge premier. We started out the night with a Twilight club. We had so much fun. We played Twilight Trivia, and I knew every answer. This could have something to do with the fact that I have been online everyday this week watching every trailer and interview made. I also read Midnight sun which as you all know has even more detail. I could seriously lock myself in my bedroom for a week and do nothing but read. fortunately I have just enough self control to not allow this, at least not a full week :( After the movie I did not know what to think. I liked it allot, I knew it was not possible to even come close to the book, so with that in mind, I did not set high expectations. But for some reason I am feeling disappointment. I don't really know why, I liked the movie, maybe it's because it's over and now what am I going to look forward to? I am curious to hear everyone else's take on the movie, most everyone at club loved it!

Speaking of looking forward, all I hear are Christmas commercials, and shopping ideas. Honestly I have no desire to even think about starting a list. I know several people who are 90% done, and seriously I don't even want to think about putting up a tree. Maybe it has something to do with the weather, It's 60 degrees outside. (which I love). Maybe after Thanksgiving I will be a little more festive.

I was just watching out my window with a huge smile on my face. Today is my neighbors b-day. His party starts in about a half hour, and he is outside on the front lawn just bursting with excitement. He is pacing the sidewalk, jumping across the lawn, even doing some kind of a little dance as he keeps watching the cars pass hoping one of them will be stopping at his house. Why is it that adults don't show their excitement like children. I think it might actually be fun to run around the neighborhood jumping and dancing. However I would probably end up in the nut house, after someone called me in for running around the streets like a crazy woman.

Keeter with her best friend Abbie at dance competition. These two have so much fun.
They only come as a pair. You won't see one without the other, and when we do finally separate them, they are on the phone or the computer still talking and laughing.

CONGRATS N.S. WOLVES

MAKING HISTORY...the first time EVER in the history of North Sevier we make it to the finals. The Wolves are up against the Kanab Cowboys The #1 ranked team. This is not a first for the Cowboys. They have taken state and made it to the finals several times. The game was at Timp View High School in Provo and I think 90% of Salina was there The stands were packed, everyone in Blue and Crimson. The team had great support starting with a team send off at 9:00 a.m. A tail gate party in Provo at 1:00. And kick off at 2:00. The first quarter we are unsuccessful in even coming close to scoring. The Cowboys have scored twice, the wolves are making some mistakes, and the tension is starting to become uncomfortable. It's now half time and there is no change. The cheerleaders and the fans are trying our best to put the spirit back into our team. Then half time ends and we come back with a VENGEANCE! Our first touch down is made in less than 30 seconds with the extra point good. The second touch down follows right after with another successful extra point. This puts us in the lead and we DOMINATE from this point on. We have an awesome interception, another touchdown and that's how it's done. It was AWESOME!!! I am so proud of our boys they played hard and worked hard all season and it paid off. This was an amazing experience for our boys. CONGRATS WOLVES!!!

STATE CHAMPS!!!!
